Anybody running 265/60R18 on base ML350 '06 235/65R17

Has anyone installed GL320 265/60-18's on stock 17" ML350 wheels? I'm just wondering if they are going to rub the inner fenders. The diameter is more than 4.89% difference from the stock 235/65-17's Overall Diameter 1.49 inch larger than OEM. I like to fill in the big gap in between the wheel arch.
(Fr. 1010tires.com they're not recommend no more than 3% Speedometer different, our new wheels is 5.1% difference too slow).
However, From Tirerack talking about How low I can go? stated: "A good rule of thumb is that most cars can be lowered about 1.5 inches without complications. Beyond that, changes in a severely lowered car’s suspension may negatively affect ride quality, tire wear and increase the risk of "bottoming." We have ML I see a lot of space in between. The tire shop try to put wheel, tire in and said it's ok there is a clearance on calipers.
I didn't install yet, too much worry and like to know from your expert opinions first. Thank you in advance for your inputs, advisors.

Hello, from JAPAN.

My ML500(2006) has 265/60-18' from GL450(Tires are CONTINENTAL) . rub the inner fenders when turn the wheels , but only just a little.
So I don't care about it at all. and also My ML500 has Eibach springs, maybe 5cm lower than Originals.
If your ML350 has original suspensions or springs, there is nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for your respond. I have original suspensions that make me feel better. You have ML500 so what is your original tire size?

The original tire size is 255/55-18 or 235/65-17.
255/55-18 and 235/65-17 same diameter.

I think your ML can be installed 265/60-18 wheels with no problem, but maybe tire is little bit going over from the fender. because the different wheel offset between ML's and GL's.

ML 235/65R17 7.5J X 17 offset 56mm
ML 255/55R18 8.0J X 18 offset 60mm
GL 265/65R18 8.0J X 18 offset 53mm
(7mm difference)

So if you take GL's wheels, each wheel go out 7mm from the original.
