Cronic Check Engine Light Problem on W-164 Anyone?
Cronic Check Engine Light Problem on W-164 Anyone?
I have a 2008 W-164 ML350 with 32k which was bought new in Oct 2007. Since then the rear tail lights have been replaced (electrical issue) the engine harness has been replaced (electrical issue) and the car has been back to the dealer 5 times for a check engine light. The transmission is not shifting correctly due to a "faulty code". We seem to be getting the run around with MB and wanted to know if anyone else is or has experienced problems with the check engine light issues which specifically seem to be elctrical in nature.
of course MB service always has me check the ever technical gas cap check each time the light comes on, which is getting really old. The car was just in for the check engine light last Wednesday (May 4th) and will need to go back in (6th time) today. Any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated.

bought ML350 in August. At 900 miles 1st CEL. Dealer placed a faulty "valve". @ 2000 miles 2nd CEL. Dealer replaced the same valve.
Now at 7k and no reoccurance of CEL...so far so good.

Did you solve this problem ? If so, what was a problem ...I am getting similar issue. So far, I found that MB extended warranty on Oxygen sensor due to faulty supplier but ...
