ml500 2011 whining sound
hello world, just bought an ml500 grand edition ... and the car is amazing, however second day i noticed a very annoying whining sound whenever i hit the gas !! does not matter if the car is moving or not the sound is always there
... took it back to the agency and the technician confirmed the whining . we tested another car and the sound was there. tested a gl500 (which has same engine and gearbox and there was no sound!! the supervisor ask me to finish 3500 mile and then bring it back , its done 2500 mile now and the still whining.... what shall i do

I too just got a 2011 Grand Edition ML but mine has the BlueTec engine.
It does not have the whining sound.
Why not bring it to another M-B Dealer if your Dealer has no clue on how to fix it?
Or call M-B's corporate office to register your concerns.
I'm sure M-B doesn't want to have an unhappy customer.
Let us know if the find out what is causing the sound.

try it with the A/C compressor off....my ML squeals like a pig at start up with A/C on. Dealer has checked it on 3 different trips in...all OK. It does quiet down after a few miles.
