Trunk doesn't fully open

Today after returning from having a new set of tires put on I opened my trunk remotely (as always) and it did not fully open. See hand prints from the tire store on the lid. Thinking mechanic likelly manually opened it. Thinking may have sprung the automatically opening and closing mechanism. Anyone know anything about the auto opening and closing mechanisn and whether it can be adjusted so as to open fully. Or am I screwed with having to get something repaired and/or replace. Please advise. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You probably just need to push and hold the trunk closer button (on the lift gate) for 10-15 seconds until it beeps twice and it should reset it to the full open position.
