Can't Read NAV DVD, warranty, or DIY replace NAV processor...?

Can't Read NAV DVD, warranty, or DIY replace NAV processor...?
Wife's '08 ML320 CDI NAV has "can't read NAV DVD" error... Tried reloading, no luck, tried known good NAV DVD, no luck... Read some stories about DVD Processors going bad... Car has 55k on the Odo so guessing it's not covered under warranty, but anyone know for sure...? Can't remember if this car has 36k miles coverage only on electronics to be honest... Other option might be to DIY the processor if I can figure out which part number, etc... Don't actually know if it is the processor causing the problem but the NAV DVD does try to read the disk (buzzes when disk inserted) and the NAV disk is clean as a whistle (no scratches or smudges whatsoever on it)...
