ML 350 Gas Guage problems
Has anyone else with an 2011 ML had problems with the gas guage? This is the third time we have had it in the dealership to fix it in like a month and a half. It either shows readings that don't make sense or just shows completely empty even after filling up.

The first time they replaced the sensor that checks the fuel level and the second time they "fixed" a computer error. The head guy is on the case now so hopefully they can fix it.

No we always filled up with the engine off. We got it back on Tuesday for its third time in the repair shop and the shop foreman took it that time. Its broken again only a few days later.

So they picked it up from our house this time and they have kept it a bit longer this time. I can't imagine anything could be so wrong they can't fix it after a 4th time.

Another ML Gas Gauge Mystery
During our recent trip to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Tucson, I have experienced the same problem. Cruising down the road and the fuel tank goes from 1/2 to empty instantaneously. (See photo). I filled up (only took 16 gallons) and everything is fine. Based on what i read above I guess my sensor that measures the bottom half of the tank has a problem. When traveling around town with frequent stops and restarts there doesn't seem to be a problem . It only shows up on long trips when I go a few hundred miles without stopping. I have to admit having your fuel gauge drop to zero while going 65-70 mph is rather unsettling. I will have the dealer check it out next week when I go in for a Service "B".

I have a 2012 and I'm currently dealing with this issue. I have 2 fuel Gauges in the Tank one with the Filter and the other with the Fuel Pump. I had to change both the Fuelfilter (mileage service due) and Fuel pump on failure both replacement were aftermarket. The Fuel pump came with the gauge but I selected the no gauge option for the fuel filter. it seams that this gauge is failing and I'm now looking to replace. I will report in if it works......This will take me a few week as I have to wait on delivery......the dealer here in Trinidad is way to expensive or don't have parts.
Right now the dash meter works intermittently and fill up as a rule every week

My GLE63 gage went on the fritz last Monday. ALSO, the boat sail warning came up about ten times. 15,000 miles and its already gone through rear pads.
