2006 ML 350
Radio / CD Player

I just bought a 2006 ML350 and have a couple of questions. When you play a CD either from the cd player in the glove box or the player behind the display should the cd information (i.e. song info) come up in the display on the dash? The car has the upgraded Harmon sound system.

Also, the car came with an IPOD connection plug in the glove box. When I plug an earlier IPOD into it the Ipod just goes blank; when I plug an IPOD Touch in, the Touch indicates that it won't be charged thru the connection but music doe play thru the radio. Again, like playing a CD no information comes up on the screen. Is this normal?

2006 ml350
I have a 2006 ML350 with the Harmon Kardon sound system. When a CD is installed and selected the Title/Name of the CD (sometimes truncated if the title is long) is displayed across the top of the screen. The name of each song, as it is played, is displayed across the middle of the screen. Up/down arrows are above and below this line to aid is skipping or repeating the song track via the sound system controller "joystick" located on the bottom right. The CD track number (i.e. 1/18) and song time is displayed across the bottom of the screen. I do not have the IPOD connection on my 2006.

I do have the IPOD connector on my 2010 ML350 Bluetec and the two devices work seamlessly.

FOr a 2006, it is normal for the instrument cluster to just say TRACK 01 etc. I have seen a couple that had the updated bus controller that wuld show song info, but only a couple.

There is a Pass-N-Charge adapter available for the iPod cable to charge it (on our site) as well as a bluetooth Anystream adapter that will allow digital bluetooth streaming via the cars iPod connection.
