that's not a great track record is it? I don't know what other issues you've had but probably nothing severe enough to get some relief via a lemon law.

I feel pretty lucky with mine. Had a check engine light within the first month, but nothing else since then.

Hmmm.... and I bought the 2011 thinking that ALL the bugs have been worked out....

So far my main disappointment is the auto-light not working as expected.

Also I get the parktronic? warnings going off at weird times with the leds flashing on the dash (centre of the wind shield).

The manual states that the sensors on the front and rear bumpers have to cleaned regularly.
I guess they must have gotten dirty and the ML is not too happy!

BTW, did you try both your keys just in case that's the problem?

It's frustrating, but I've had a much better experience with my '08 ML550. Bought it in April of 2010, and it's been absolutely flawless. I bought a max extended warranty, but now I'm even beginning to question whether I needed to. This thing just keeps going and going and going . . . with zero issues. Glad yours is back on the road!

I have also bad experience with the latest model before redesign (it was VW). I was thinking that fixing (or improvement ) car for 5 years could bring the final year model perfect but I got lemon.

The only good thing about fixing car inside warranty is that once you fix a problem and it shouldn't appear again (by the time of fixing it, they know solution as well) ...

Somehow, I think 2008 ML (any model) is the best year so far ...If I ever change my car, it is going be for model above year 2012

Good luck ....

Used to work with key in pocket, now I have manually press buttons on remote to open/close, only can start with remote in cup holder, or I have to remove keyless go button and use.
Dealer replaced new two remotes, not fixed, then replaced module...,still not fixed......dealer orderring an antenna...still waitting.
