Rattling Noise--Cargo Shade?

I'm hearing a rattling noise that sounds like it may be coming from the rear cargo shade of my 2011 ML350. I did a search but found nothing else on the subject. Anyone else have rattling sounds and is there a fix?

Thanks for any help or referrals to other posts on the subject.

I've got the same thing in my GL, and it was the cargo shade. It rattles becuase it doesn't really lock into itself very well... You will notice two little dog ears that slide into the main slot, but they only sit there so when you go over a bump the weight of the handle shakes the actual shade a bit.

You have just discovered why so many people remove the cargo shade and leave it in the garage.

I had the same problem last winter, sprayed some WD-40 on the insides of both ends and the noise disappeared.

Be careful. WD40 is corrosive to most plastics. Silicon spray, yes; WD40, maybe not.

Cargo nets= noise. I was able to get rid off it simply by increasing the volume of my jazz station.
