eibach sport springs looking odd? ML 164 2006 280

Greetings,

Just had some eibach sport springs installed and for some reason they just dont look right. The springs should give around 30mm drop all round, as you can see the rear looks as if it's been dropped between 60mm - 80mm, and the front certainly looks as if its been jacked up!?

I've been using eibach springs for years, never seen such a drastic/ strange outcome, I have a theory though, which is a bit out there, but is it possible my local garage have installed the springs back to front? e.g. the front springs have been installed in the rear, and vise-versa, I'm not even sure it's possible?

Have any of you guys seen what the eibach sport springs should do to an ML164?

Any reference photos would be great.

The Blurry Photos in the car park, (the last three photos) are post lowering.

Thanks,
Don

I agree there is something wrong with your "drop" and you should take it back. Eicbach front and rear springs are different lenghts and if installed incorrectly (IMO) will give you "that look."

Late last year I looked into Eibach vs. H&R and concluded H&R's are the best drop for a W164. The performance shops I discussed this with all recommended H&R's. They are more expensive but they are also thicker and add more drop than the Eibach's. Search the previous drop threads for pictures of what your ML should look like if the work is performed correctly. Good luck and keep us posted.

Did you put different shocks in the front/rear?

thanks for the feedback guys.

LOVEMYBS - I did look into the H&R's but wanted a less aggressive drop for this car, it's a nice change from driving floored cars most of the time. I will be taking the car back to the garage at some point this week as i'm sure there is something wrong with it.

babyman1737 - I haven't touched the shocks, but was told that a rear one was due to be replaced sometime soon, that could be contributing excessive drop.

I guess I'll find out soon enough, will keep the thread posted, thanks again.
