Is it normal for the ML to produce moaning noises from the power steering? My 2011 ML550 consistantly moans (albeit quietly) when turning the wheel at parking lot speeds. This is most noticable during 3 point turn type manuvers with the radio off.

I am not use to any noises at all from power steering on any recent cars of mine.

I'm thinking this is considered normal, but i'm definetly dissapointed about this characteristic. Many moons ago I had a Ford Taurus that did this, I never imagened a Benz would do this too.

There are some service bulletins on 2010 & 2011 ML steering. There may be a fix - describe the symptoms to your dealer.

I'm pretty sure they all do it, but it shouldn't be very audible. Only if it's dead silent or if the wheel is turned to locking point.
