Diff-lock overheating??

2006 ML320Cdi Off Road Package; 2010 E500 Cab
Diff-lock overheating??
Hi everyone I'm back.............. took delivery of my 2006 ML 320Cdi last Friday.

Its got the off-road package so I took it off-roading over the weekend, I usually keep the diff-locks on with my Disco 1 so I turned them on in the Merc too but after a very short distance maybe two kms the car turned them off and gave a warning message - diffs overheating!

Is this normal or is there something wrong with my car?
