What's on the back of the mirror on my ML550?

What's on the back of the mirror on my ML550?
So I was adjusting my rear view mirror this morning, and something fell off... It is a piece of plastic tape with a circuit in it... I can't see where it should have connected to the mirror, and the sticky part that held it in place is no longer adhesive. I have attached a picture of it.
Anyone know what that is?

Looks to me like some sort of an antenna. Perhaps, keyless go, bluetooth, ??? I have all that stuff in my 2010 but nothing like that on my mirror.

Yeah, initially that's what I thought, but none of those things stopped working when this fell off. I found something on a Lexus website that indicated it might be something to an RFID tag related to the manufacturers inventory system. If so, wonder why they did not remove it before I purchased the vehicl?

Has to be the monitoring device "Big Brother" put on there to keep an eye on you. Put it back on with new tape quick before they realize you found their secret.

That was one of my first thoughts, but am not so sure. It has a little bit of text on it, "Alien", which turns out to be a company that does RFID inventory tracking systems. I think it is an inventory tracking tag. Here's what their tag looks like, I think they just forgot to take it off when delivered.
