Possible to play music via USB Stick

Yes if you have the media interface which comes with a cable for iphone/ipod and another for USB drive.
If not you can copy your music onto a SD Memory card and stick it into the head unit.

I have an 08 so I dont have the "new" navigation with color screen. hdd, sd card. Can I buy the media interface from MB parts for my 08 navigation?
