2007 ml320 CDI - engine issue
Howdy all,
Just after some advice on my 2007 ML 320 CDI with 100,000 kilometers on the clock.
Symptoms are:
Poor fuel economy - should be getting under 10 litres per 100 kilometers but I am averaging 13 or more.
Under acceleration there is plenty of dirty diesel exhaust smoke (not oil but smells of burned diesel)
Feels a little underpowered.
When accelerating hard the car the car judders as if momentarily losing power (This has only happended a few times in 6 months).
Twice in 6 months the car has died on a warm day only to restart 5 minutes later.
At last check there were no fault codes coming up.
I have read that the car cutting out may have something to do with the Crank Position sensor, does that sound right?
AFM may be the reason for rich running, is that true?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Adrian from Australia.

I called Peter Lennox but they never returned my calls but his site looks good.
