PTS malfunction
(PTS) Parktronic Sensor
After warranty expired last year, my truck starts to show problems this year.
On early February, one sensor failed in front bumper. Two weeks later, another one failed.
Last week, another 2 sensors failed to work. (1 in front and another in rear)
What really annoying me is that my previous cars (W210 E320 & W211 E320), when also facing PTS malfunction, the system still worked and detected the distance while parking in a narrow space. The only symptom was the defect one did not detect well while the other still performed superbly.
But now with W164, if any of the sensor failed, the system would just lock up and shut down. Even when I needed most in the rear to detect distance of another car parking behind me.
Just wondering if anyone think that this set up can be re-decode...??
(So it does not shut off the system when any sensor fail)
