Aftermarket glass breakage sensor??

I just had my car broken into. They smashed the driver's window, Climbed through the window and rifled the car. They broke into the glove compartment and stole some stuff.

Two other cars in the same parking garage for the same event- same story...

All had security systems - none went off - because they never opened a door.

I understand that the ML163 had a glass breakage sensor and that mercedes dropped in in the ML164. Is there an aftermarket glass breakage sensor that can be added?

the 163 does not have a glass break sensor, but there are plenty of aftermarket ones.

Thanks for pointing that out. Let me rephrase the question...

Is there a way to integrate a glass break sensor into the factory installed security system??

I don't think there is a way but don't know for sure. Getting a complete after market system would be the best way to go. I know a lot of people with nice security systems and their things still get stolen because they are gone by the time you get outside or you just don't hear it so security systems are usually a waste of money.

One of the best Securty items I have? A very real looking rubber snake. Placing it is your option.
