2011 ML350 Steering Noise
This morning my wife was parallel parking and heard a thunking or clunking noise as she turned the wheel left to right.
Has anyone experienced this?

Its still under warranty, so let the dealer decide.
They seem happy to replace entire racks, usually for a leak rather than a clunk. The leak causes a whirring noise when turning.

We plan on taking it in for service (we should have our own reserved parking space there), just figured I would ask the forum and see if I get any feedback.

Repaired
Update. The ML went in for service on Friday and we got it back yesterday.
Apparently the collar at the base of the steering shaft that holds the steering shaft in place became loose and was causing the clunking noise.
Also a bearing on the shaft also had to be replaced.
So just in case anyone else runs into this problem this is what was done to repair mine.
