I have a 06 ML 350 told by MB need engine: # 3 and 4 no compression. First they said it was the balance shaft they would cover "good will" and I have to replace the timing belt and spark plugs for 1370 but recanted not covering so engine is 13k. Can't afford! What should I do? Get new engine from where and what type Mercedes shop? If not what should I try to sell for? Not running 100k good interior and exterior otherwise.

Get a second opinion. Get to and Indy, have them check with Potomac Used parts for a used engine if in fact the engine is shot

thanks for the response. there are some independant shops here stating mercedes specialist. are there any specific questions i should ask them to ensure they know what they are doing if they put the new engine in?
