Salvage 2006 ML350 and 2011 ML350; will part work for the 2011?

I have 2 salvage vehicles.

2006 ml350 has only body and frame which caused it to be salvage. Everything else is perfect.

2011 ml350 has water/flood damage (due to sandy) and very little, if anything is usable from this vehicle (but the body, frame and interior are immaculate)

can I use all the parts from the 2006 and put them on the 2011?

Im talking all electrical, engine/transmission, gas tank (not sure if the 2011 has that damaged as well). Basically the works. All parts from the 2006, would go to the 2011. Is that possible?

Its sunday and I havent been able to get any Mercedes mechanics on the phone. They must be watching the playoffs

BTW, I love this emoticon . Any chance I can use him as my chauffeur?

Theoretically it should work as there was no significant changes between those model years.
I will say though that Mercedes electronics are complicated and usually require the dealer to "code" the multitude of on board computers to talk to each other.
The last time I heard of something like this, the Indy had to tow the non starting, everything fully connected vehicle to the dealer, prove ownership of both donor and rebuilt vehicles, and then the dealer charged quite a bit to re code everything. After that the rebuilt vehicle started and ran perfect.

Caution

I don't know the US laws, but to do it here, an Engineers Certificate is required. They would have to verify it met 2011 polution regs before accepting. I doubt the 2006 engine etc would comply.
Please check it out before you waste your effort.

That's a big forgot. There will be too many differences to make this economically possible. Waaaay too many.
Sorry but like you said, all you have are 2 salvage vehicles.

bought both cars at extremely low price so I could always resell and make a profit; albeit a small one worst case. I as really hoping I got myself a steal and would have benefited by using the parts and making myself a new car.

Lesson learned.
