2007 ML350 buy or not to buy?

Hello,
I'm about to buy 2007 ML with almost 60K miles but having second thoughts I found some posts related to valve body for the transmission in 06 and 07 and other transmission issues.

The truck I'm looking at has these comments in its carfax

  • Differential carrier bearing(s) replaced
  • Wheel speed sensor(s) replaced/repaired

Is this an indication of a transmission problem? Should I be concern?
Any advise greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Get the engine serial and cross check for the balance shaft issue...

My 2 cents, either spend a little extra $ and get a 08/09 or be prepared to spend more than that if anything goes to crap.

Is this a well known issue isolated to 2007? The ML I'm looking at is MB certified. I hope this helps at least in the next 12 months in case anything goes wrong.

The balance shaft issue affected the earlier 07's and was pretty much the biggest as far as I know...

The 07 is also prone to front diff failure and some oil leaks here and there...

It is good that you are getting the CPO warranty, however, I strongly suggest you to extend that to the longest possible period.

My 07 was trouble free till the extended warranty ran out at 100k miles and then all hell broke loose like clockwork...

Good luck!
