Blue Tec Stopped dead
While sitting at a red light my 2010 ML 350 Blue tec with 54,000 miles stopped dead w/o warning.
All attempts to restart were with negative results.
Rolled backwards to the side of the road and called MB roadside service using the phone numbers listed. All would not work.
Called my MB Dealer and they gave me a new number that did work.
53 minutes lated flat bed arrived with a very informed driver who new where the towing eye was located under the rear deck, where to screw it in and correctly loaded the car on the flat bed.
This was Friday night at about 4:30 PM. MB dealer gave me a loaner .
Early Monday afternoon dealer called to say that my car was repaired and ready for a pick up.
They found that the fuel pick up tube in the tank had fallen off. They reattached the tube and made sure that it would not come off again.
Is this a problem that others have encountered? I would hate to be in Alaska
with no MB dealers around to repair.

I like your story in that the problem was taken care of pretty smoothly.
My first Mercedes (ML350 Bluetec) that I ordered on Dec 8th 2012 is due in 2 days. Very excited.

We had something similiar in our '09 ML 320.
Every few days it would not start.
After waiting 30 minutes, it would then start.
After the third visit, they replaced the crank sensor after much pushing by me and talking to the Zone rep.
That was not it, it was still happening (leaving my wife/kids stranded until I got there to swap cars).
After the two more visits, they finally replaced the fuel pump.
I believe that was it from the beginning, but they said if they replaced it and it was not bad, I would have to pay.
That did solve the problem.
Between the AdBlue services (don't ever let the engine start left count get down to 0) and extra BlueTec issue, it is almost not an advantage to get the higher fuel mileage.
