ML350 after market Parktronic experience?

ML350 after market Parktronic experience?
My wife had a nice 2008 ML350 with Parktronic that was lost in an accident. She's looking for a 2011 or 2012 4matic ML350 now, but it's so hard to find one with Parktronic (specifically, rear and front parking sensors, and not the park assist feature).
We're now wondering maybe we should add the senors after market; how's been the experience for people here? I see lots of posts about the kit and installation, but can't find any experience shared after the install. Is after market install (assuming MB parts) as good as the factory install?
Any help/advice appreciated.
