Bluetooth in my 2007 ML320 CDI
I picked up my 'new to me' MB this week-end and I love it. I am learning everything this automobile has to offer. WOW! I am trying to figure out the bluetooth and after searching youtube and just plain Google, I haven't had any luck..
I stumbled upon this site and figured I would ask here.. When I hit "TEL" on the COMAND system it say "no phone inserted".
Can anyone help this MB newbie... please.....
I have the Droid Razr smart phone.

You need to purchase the "bluetooth puck" Which installs in the armrest. It will be like this one

Thank you!!!!! I was researching on eBay and wasn't ready to spend that money.. ;-) I checked my local Craigslist and found one for $75.00. I picked it up today and I am up and running.
Thanks again!

If your vehicle is NOT originally equipped with that puck, it doesn't have the option and will not work. That's what the parts guy at a MB dealer told me. I'm skeptical about that. Does your Craigslist puck work ?

2007 ML500 iphone connection
I just bought a 2007 ML500 and have been reading through this forum trying to determine if I can connect my iPhone 4 to it. So far it sounds like I am out of luck if it was not equiped with a bluetooth puck from the factory. Am I correct?
Thanks
Love driving the ML so far - but have only had it for a day.

If it has the connector in the armrest you just need to add the puck.
The connector is under the black plastic cover.

You were right on. The dealer had one in stock and helped me install it and sync my phone to it. Works like a charm.
Really liking the ML500!

Add BlueTooth to 2007 ML320
Is it possible to add BlueTooth to 2007 ML320 without being intrusive to the existing wiring, or having wires hanging out of the cigarette lighter? I am getting conflicting answers.
There is nothing inside the armrest console; neither a puck, nor a connection for the puck. When I press the "Tel" button on Comand, it reads "Tel not available". When I depress the voice commands on the steering wheel, nothing happens.
There must be a means of adding bluetooth, so I can access the music and hands free from Blackberry z30.
This vehicle has many electrical options; Navigation, parkatronice (parking sensors), rain sensors, which leads me to believe I should be able to add a OEM part to take advantage of the hands free options.
What I don't want to have to do is have an after market stereo technician, alter the wiring or cutting the dash to add an aftermarket product.
That said, is it possible to add the bluetooth or does this vehicle need to be pre-wired?
Also, following this theme, can I add a back-up camera by adding hardware only, and the image will be supported by electrical connections, and view-able on the Comand screen?
Any help would be appreciated.

It needs to be prewired, and most are.
The connection in your armrest (is there) has a plastic cover over it.
The voice command buttons have nothing to do with the phone prewiring (but it would be even harder to believe a car with a voice command steering wheel was not pre-wired.
This is not an ML, but the cover looks the same.

Thanks for the reply,
Re: 2007 ML320, adding Bluetooth
My question is...... If there is no connection in the armrest console, can I add a bluetooth puck (B67876131) ? Or can an MB technician rewire the Comand so it connects with the puck, and I can use BlackBerry Z30, for music and telephone, through the stereo system?
I have an "Aux" connection in the glove box. But not sure if that can be used for blue tooth connection.

Hello all! I am buying a 2007 ML500 from my boss and he says that it comes with the bluetooth adapter puck. Question: does this also stream audio? Is there a source setting on the stereo that will allow music to come through and be controlled like any other music?

Got it, thanks! I am looking at AUX-bluetooth connectors, there are a number for less than $50. I know it won't handle things through the stereo or steering wheels controls, but I am fine using my phone. I am just used to have it connected to the speaker system automatically when I get in the car (not having to plug in an AUX cable).

P.S. you want to make sure you buy one that is able to charge and play at the same time AND re-connects to the phone automatically

Out Of Control!!
My 2006 model did not come with the Bluetooth phone option so I do not have a connector in the glove box. To my knowledge that connector will only allow you to make calls. These early models do not have the ability to play audio via Bluetooth, only calls. To get Bluetooth audio streaming you have to do what was mentioned above, buy a Bluetooth AUX port connector. You won't have steering wheel controls for changing songs or whatnot, but you will be able to stream music. I just ran the power chord for the puck through the bottom of the glovebox and connected it via the 12V lighter port that turns ON/OFF with the car. That's the only "budget-friendly" way to get it done. Hope that info helps.

I think they all have the connector.
There is a cover on it.

The wiring might be there under the center arm rest console, but a connector is not present. There is no plastic cover, cutout, cap or hole where such connector would be. If you did not choose the “phone connectivity” package, you do not have a connector. Otherwise that means Mercedes gives you something you did not pay for. When does that ever happen?
That also doesn’t change the fact that the Command Unit itself is incapable of factory Audio streaming via Bluetooth. It’s a phone call only unit.

You need the optional Bluetooth module to connect to a phone.
I had been led to believe the wiring for the module was in the standard North America build, but I could be wrong.
Both my cars (bought used) had the wiring connector under a cover even though neither came with a BT module.
