2011 LED DRL's on 2010
Hello Everyone,
I'm about a week away from closing a 2010 ML350 Bluetec with all the bells and whistles. I really love the LED DRL's on the 2011 and came across these. Does anyone have any experience with them?

very true...To be honest I would rather get them from MB but I know they're going to be expensive in comparison...we'll see, I might just take the chance and see of they're any good.
Thanks,
Mike

how are these activated?
2011 MLs and later have a software option for LEDs only. The entire implementation of this is a HUGE piece of crap. You can read for yourself in the thread I'll post below. It's complicated by what MB calls the "blue sky" effect - perhaps it's not coincidental that the abbreviation is BS. If you use the option for LED daytime running lights, you effectively lose control of headlight operation - headlights will turn on/off during the day, etc.
Massive implementation failure by MB....

The ones obove from ebay and what not runs off of a small drl controller unit. They have resistor cacellors for the oem plugs and the drl powers from the battery. When the car is turned on, there's a voltage spike above 12v which turns the unit on. After the car is turned off he voltage drop will power off the unit, thus not draining bat. Only downside is regular fog functions are gone. You can buy a different drl controller which have a feed wire for signals/headlught which dimms the led less power when headlights are on.
