RUNNING BOARDS - Need help deciding, please!
Running boards: NEW OE style vs. USED OEM ??
Please advise me which to choose?!
I have a 2011 ML 350 and am ready to purchase either the NEW
OE STYLE running boards OR the USED OEM running boards.
Both are from very highly rated (separate) eBay dealers and there is (only) a slight cost difference of about 75.00.
Has anyone had experience with the aFtermarket ones to know if the long rectangular part that bolts to the car is metal and not plastic? Also, the seller of the USED OEM boards says many are from MB prototype cars, less than 1,000 mi., etc. Both include all hardware and same warranty. Thoughts, please?!!! Thanks.

Since when did Mercedes-Benz dismantle prototype W164's? Since when did they even build a prototype W164?
My car has OE (not OEM) running boards and I hate the things. Not big enough to do any good and too big to stay out of the way. I have to stretch to get over them to get in and out.

I have the OE running boards and I like them.
Like the way the look and they help me when washing the car to reach the entire roof
