DDM HID Clarification
It has been almost 3 years since I've posted here, but I figure now's a better time than ever to rejoin the community.
I've been researching the DDM HID kit for a couple of days now for the fam's 2008 ML350. A search of this forum didn't seem to show many W164 drivers as using this kit but it is ideal for me right now due to limited budget, and the lifetime warranty is good enough for me too. I am hoping that it will last long with good results.
I have firmly settled on their 35W 4500K HID kit for the car, and I just wanted to clear up some lingering doubts before I whip out my credit card and place the order.
- My understanding is that the only other accessory needed that DDM offers is the error correctors, but even then, they are not always needed, and I can ship them back for a refund. Most errors can be solved by going to the dealer and having them set xenon = present in STAR. Correct?
- I have heard whispers that there may be a need for an additional "H7 Adapter" or "H7 clip" because the bulbs do not sit well. On the contrary, I've also heard (and seen) that it can be as easy as just plug-and-play and that it works fine without any additional parts. Can anyone comment on this?
Thanks in advance. It might be worth noting that this will be my first time "tinkering" with the car. Definitely nervous and a little intimidated by the installation process but lots of members here seem to have done it in no time, with good results. Hoping the same for me with long-lasting performance!
