How turn off radio and keep navi on?

Simple question with hopefully a simple answer. I have both navi on and the radio on. fine. but now I cannot figure out how to turn off the radio and still keep the radio on. Thanks.

On my 2008, I just press the "mute" button to silence the audio. It seems a little weird, but that's how it works. The phone remains active. In practice, the phone overrides the Nav which overrides audio. Mute does not pause the ipod - and I don't remember if it pauses the CD player. I did (once) somehow turn off the voice on the Nav, too, and had to power down and back up to get the Nav voice going again.

Hope that helps!

Pressing mute DOES pause the CD player - but not the ipod.
