Routing iPhone to Console vs. Glove Compartment ('11 ML550)
Hey guys,
Was hoping that you could help out here. I recently purchased a 2011 ML550 from the local authorized dealer and absolutely love it. Just, I hate the fact that I have to have my iPhone tucked away in the glove compartment while it's plugged into the car.
Ideally we can route the iPhone adapter through the coin tray or ash tray in the center console.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue -- and am hoping you guys could please give me some guidance on how to do this and/or point me in the direction of a thread where this has come up in the past?

I touched base with the OP and the installation is still fully functional. It worked so well that when he traded his car in on a 2010 ML550, he replicated the install with the same success.
I'll try to do the same, just with an iPhone 5 (for some reason Apple doesn't have an OEM dock for them - so I'll have to use a cheap aftermarket replica) in the next few weeks and post my progress.
