Power Steering Fluid Leak

hello,
2006 ML 350 75,000 miles
At several oil changes, I've been told before that "the power steering fluid tank is leaking from top". I have moved to a new condo, and they are a bit meticulous about leaks in the parking lot. I had no leaking issues, however, since the recent oil change, they topped off the fluids, it's leaking bad and I got a warning to fix it from the condo management.

I tried to wait it our until it leaks the excess, but it's not stopping One thing comes to my mind is to lower the level of power steering fluid. But I think I will just get it fixed.
I read the part # as 0004602583
and it's available at ebay for $50.

I am planning to get the part and find a mechanic to get it replaced. Mechanic is familiar with mercedes, got fully recommended from another mercedes owner.

Also, I have taken a price from a highly rated oil change place that I went and they quoted me $80 for the parts + $150 for labor. Then, I called the mercedes service and I was told there was an update to the part so I have to change both the tank and the pump totaling something close to $1000.

What do you guys recommend?
Thanks!

If you want to try your luck, it might just be the rubber O ring between the pump and reservoir in which case you remove the C clip between the two, replace the O ring and put back together--of course the fluid needs to be removed first! If that does not work, I'f you can find an original style replacement great, otherwise the whole update assembly does Need replaced.

Just do the O-ring, and remember not to overfill.

Mark.
