How to eliminate wind noise...

Hello all. Just picked up a 2011 ML350 in excellent condition (one owner, low miles, local, CPO, etc). The previous owner had evidently installed window guards (??) on all four windows, so rain water would not leak in with the windows cracked.

Herein lies my dilemma; you can see where the rubber seals on the outside of the window are deformed from the window inserts, allowing a bit of wind noise to ease into the cabin. Will the rubber strips eventually go back into place i.e. flat agains the glass?

It has been very cold since I bought the ML (1 week ago); perhaps the sun and heat will help the rubber eventually go back into place(seems like they have already gone back into shape). Any ideas - hair dryer to heat it up and masking tape to hold it (while it is in the garage, of course).

The wind noise is not that bad, so I can live with it, I guess... Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. By the way - LOVE the W164 - drives and handles nicely for an SUV.

Thanks...
