Is aftermarket rear entertainment an option in 2011 ML350?

My wife will be buying a 2011 ML350 in the next few days. This will be her third ML350. In the past I have been hesitant to work on her car, yet I am very handy mechanically and in the audio/video field.

I've installed I'm my SUV which is a GMC Acadia a WDTV system to my entertainment system for the kids. This eliminates the DVDs as the movies are contained on a external hard drive.

The car she plans to purchase has no rear entertainment system. Of course she wants me to duplicate my setup in her new ML350. In her old ML350 the DVDs were constantly getting scratched, so I understand.

What I wish to find out is how easy is it to install aftermarket video screens on the ML350? I've searched any pretty much find people only installing OEM video screens.

If faced with your predicament I'd look long and hard at mounting iPads on the back seats. Believe M-B offers kits for W166's but don't know what that adds.
