Quote: I had a similar problem with my ML350 Blutec. Fixed under warranty right at 50k, took them 3 tries. A plate or board was cracked, part had to come from Germany. I cant find my paperwork, Ill get copy from dealer send info.
hb
I found my paperwork:
541011 short test preform:
274989 Electrohydraulic controller unit of automatic transmission removed and install.
There were no codes, looks like they also replaced the valve body, filter and fluid

dont forget a new EIS when you least expect it
Quote: Something I wouldn't know from reading the manual. I'm a "car guy" and have read the manuals, searched forums, worked on, and just all around enjoy vehicles. So, tell me something "cool" the average owner wouldn't know or know how to find. Secret codes, what aftermarket parts are actually useful or productive? What will make the next 100K miles better?
If the key doesnt start the engine don't assume its a simple battery replacement in the fob. No MB have a $1500 surprise waiting for you. Best of luck

Quote: Getting ready to do my oil cooler next weekend. Oil leaking down the back of the motor around the bell housing...makes it appear to be a rear main leak...but its not.
If you are self diagnosing this. My only advice is - dont assume its the oil cooler seals. There are 2 common causes of oil leaking on bottom of the bell housing. It could either be the turbo seal ($20) or the oil cooler seal ($2K+). It is very hard to distinguish between the two coz it leaks in the same place and the bottom cover conceals the problem for months.

Quote: 09 BETTER then the preceeding years, 06,07 and even 08. Hope you have zero issues.
Not entirely true. The older 06-08 will never have adblue heater problems coz it aint got it. In an ageing Mercedes - stay away if you can from adblue, air-suspension, DPF, etc.

DonnieR32 - welcome to the club. how many miles is your truck now ? You are in good company. There are more and more diesel posts here. Thats a good thing - more shared experiences and information.
