ML320 Side airbag deployment

Hi all, was just wondering if anyone has had there 2001 model ML320 go into shutdown mode where you can't go over 40km per hour and have both side airbags go off? If so what did you do to fix problems? Do I need airbags to cancel out dash light airbag off

It scared the daylight of me. Car was flat out doing 40km/h and had to crawl home with ESP light on

The car "thinks" it hit something.

ESP is the stability system. Guessing either one of the G sensors failed or a wiring short.

The limp home mode (limited power) is probably related.

I bet the car tried to make an Emergency Call when it happened.

You are also in the wrong forum for a 2001 ML (W163, not W164)
