Headphone jack in glove box?

There is a headphone jack in my glovebox on the side near the center console and I cannot figure out what it is for.

It doesn't seem to be an output as ive hooked up some headphones to it with no output. Ive also tried using it as an input with a line in cord and ive tried aux-in and others and that doesnt work.

My car does have a cable for the iphone/ipod that is rigged to the Aux-in. Is it possible that they simply disconnected this jack when instlaling the iphone accessory or is it something else.

Its an input to your head unit. You can connect Ipods, MP3 players, then select the AUX on the command. But since you have the Iphone/Ipod cable, it most likely has no use.

The 3.5 mm input aux in works fine as long as you dont have an ipod connected to the ipod/iphone input.

Thanks. I didn't have any luck with that method.
