ml350bluetec

I am new to this. My 2011 Ml350 bluetec does not recognize the keyless go key. I am unable to open the door or start the engine, when key is in my pocket. Washed car at professional shop and put it on scanner to reset a code P0171 with the scanner. not sure what scanner the mechanic had. These 2 things were done almost the same time. key stop working after. I checked the fuse 33 already, is ok.The battery has been changed twice with brand new since it stopped working.from the key button i can open the lock but not if it is in my pocket. I was wondering if somebody can post the electrical circuit so i can trace it. Or some body can tell me where to start. I am not sure if it is a program issue in the vehicle or the key issue. I took it to the Mechanic, He had a snap on scanner nothing shows up there for keyless go.
