Connecting Android for music?
I just switched from iPhone to android.
I loved how the iphone connected to COMAND (other than the fact that the wired connection was in the glovebox).
Alas, it appears that the COMAND USB wire kit doesn't permit control of my new android device.
Anyone controlling music off their Android?
Thanks for all help.

Music from android works through aux line
I have been successful with streaming music through apps on my Android phone as well as playing music from G* play using the aux line input. You don't get song info, but you can listen to internet radio stations and play any music you have on your phone.

Hmmm, guess I should have been familiar with your MY before jumping in with a reply. In the '11 ML's glovebox there are two cables for the media interface connection, one for Apple and one auxiliary line in, does your glovebox have just one wired connection? Even so, with a USB line you should still be able to play music from your android device. (I don't have a USB port but can't imagine it acting any differently than an aux line)

Use your headphone jack on your nexus phone to connect
I have a nexus 4 phone, I just connect the auxiliary cable from the glovebox to an aux cable ( cheap from target about $5) and the other end into the phone headphone port. Then you can select aux from the audio drop down box and stream pandora, Google play, tune in radio, etc from your phone.
(This is based on the 2011 ml350 with the media interface cables in the glovebox)
Hope this helps.
