2006 ML 350 Battery Dead - Can't Open Door to Pop Hood
The battery on my car is completely dead - I'm unable to open my car door with the manual key (tried the spare, pulling the handle while flicking the key etc). Any suggestion on how I can get my hood popped without having to pull the lever inside of the vehicle? Can't afford paying someone to jimmy it open & don't want to risk the damage.
Thank you,
V.

From my Notes:
There is a trick to open door with the metal key
1: Insert the metal key and turn it.
2: Pull the door handle to unlock the door.

Maybe it's the battery in your remote that dead?
Did you notice having to press the remote longer/closer for it to work?
Or did you notice the car having trouble starting?
The battery is under the right front seat... pain to get out without taking out the seat completely.

For anyone else that finds this, on our 2011 you don't simply pull the handle, you have to pull it quickly. Don't try to rip it off the door, but do pull it faster than you would just opening the door. With the manual key if I use my normal door opening motion, the lock will not unlock. If I pull faster, it unlocks and then a second pull will open the door.
