Playing music with car off?
On my last BMW I was able to turn the music on and have it play with the car off - it would last forever without draining the battery.
On my '06 ML350 I seem to be able to do the same, but the music shuts off automatically after a little bit of time, and I have to turn it back on again. The battery also dies pretty quickly.
What's the 'correct' way of playing music or radio with the car off (& key out)? I'm going to a drive in theatre tomorrow and will need the radio playing for a good 4-6 hours - hopefully without having to climb into the cabin to turn it on again and again every 30 minutes. Any suggestions?

The head unit uses alot of power because it connects through the central electronics system for compass and time integration, which all uses the 2nd battery which is not that big, due to high wattage, it kills it, if it's used for long periods of time.
This head unit is not a very small one so I don't think there is a way to get it to stay without it shutting off and you hitting the power button like you mentioned.
