Tune ML550 exhaust to sound like a Ferrari?
#4
Will NEVER happen with any kind of exhaust systems even if you're able to take the exhaust system off the Ferrari and put on your vehicle somehow.
There's a lot of variables that goes into an engine that determines its own unique sound such as # of cylinders, cylinder banks arrangement (i.e. 60-V6, 90-V6, Straight 6, Flat 6, 60-V8, 90-V8, Straight 8, 60-V12, Flat 12, etc.) compression ratio, valve configuration (i.e. 2, 3, 4 or 5 valves), Flat plane or cross plane crankshaft, cylinder firing order, camshaft spec (lift, duration, overlap, lobe separation angle), exhaust headers design (4 into 1, Tri-Y, etc.), exhaust system (true duals, H-config, X-config, 2 into 1, and so on...
The exhaust sounding of a particular engine is almost like its signature. It's unique.
I have 12 cylinder and I just know that there's no exhaust system that would even make mine sounds like a Ferrari due to how MB designed their engines.
