Pull engine out 2006 ml350 balance shaft repair
After reading engine removal instructions on WIS it only shows dropping it out from the bottom. Has anyone pulled the engine out of a w164 from the topside or is it even possible?

Oh no...that would be too easy.
Check a thread from user sickspeed Monte or something like that.
He did his W203.
Sadly the shaft unbolts from the back.
If you decide to DIY be sure to get FRESH sealant.
Just was discussing this yesterday.
Mechanic pulled an engine, did the work, and then the engine leaked like a sieve.
M272 doesn't use gaskets for the oil pan, or valve cover.
Uses some sealant from MB, but from what I hear you gotta check the date code on it,
if it's old, it won't hold.
