No replies? Worrisome. Is your vehicle a 4matic? I'm doing that job, myself, on a 4matic ML320, and it is very difficult. I'm working my way through it, but I think the front differential has to come out. Will follow-up, as I learn more.

Mine dropped right out. Two tie rod ends, two mounting bolts, steering shaft, hydraulic lines. Hard part is getting enough leverage on the large mounting bolts.
