Trailer Hitch "Arms"

I have a 2009 ML350 4MATIC I'm trying to put the OEM hitch on so I can tow heavy things. I have the rear SAM, the wiring harness, and the hitch kit (all from ecstuning), and I have no idea where the arm-like things go. The "arms" can be seen here:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Mercedes_Be...tch/ES2222409/

I've not been able to find a picture on the interwebs of these visible anywhere, but I'm sure they go on the vehicle somewhere or I wouldn't have them. I'm doing as much of this as I can by myself (i.e. the mechanical part) and letting my local Mercedes place finish with the wiring, SAM replacement, and SAM programming. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank You!

Initially, I would start an online chat with ecstuning. I have always found them to be very helpful. I found a pic of one for sale on Ebay, googled the part number and it came back as longitudnal brace. My thought is they are inserted in the square opening of the unibody, and the hitch slides over them. I noticed two holes in bottom of the part that bolts to body, and they appear to line up with the threaded holes in the brace (two holes closest together.

I'd like to thank you for your help, that all worked! I have one more question though: where do the fuses go that I was sent? I received a 10a, 20a, 30a, and a 12V relay. I don't know where they go and am afraid to use the trailer plug without getting those in the right spots so I don't fry anything.

MrBobC,

I am glad the information helped!

For the relay and fuses location I was not able to find anything mentioning the exact locations in WIS. But I am putting the screen shots from WIS where they mention the relay and fuses. I hope this helps, I will continue looking to see if I can track down the exact positions for you.

From looking at the photo (In WIS) and looking at the fuse chart it seems like the fuses are going in location 70 and 72.. I just do not know why they are listing them as being 20A fuses when you received 10A, 20A, and 30A in the Mercedes-Benz kit.
