2008 ML350 - Driver Door Lock/Central Lock

Hi,
In my 2008 ML350 Driver door does not lock using Remote or Central Lock. All other three door locks fine. What could be the issue ? What should I check ?

Do you know what exact part number you had to change ? If you can provide me exact part number for your car, it will help me to figure out the same for my car as well. I have guy who can replace it cheaper if I can get what he needs.

You can take it completely out and cut away the plastic cover and possibly replace the broken spring in there. If the spring isn't broken wd40 the whole mechanism. My spring was fine. I fixed mine this way. Or just pay the dealer for the part.

If it's a broken actuator, you can just replace the spring yourself. See this YouTube video for the procedure:

The spring can be bought for $2-3 on eBay. Note that in order to get to the actuator you'll have to drill out a series of rivets in the door, and replace them with new rivets. It was a pain to do. The entire process took me about 3 or 4 hours for the one door I did. Still better than paying someone $600!

I ordered the spring first and found it was not broken when I got in there. I lubed up all moving parts in the lock assembly and it fixed it like new. Removing the lock assembly and cutting open the cover is not the easiest job but I was a mechanic my whole career so jerry rigging is in my blood.

Does this issue has anything to do with Front Right SAM Unit in car ?. I have been told my front Right SAM Module is bad and replacing will fix this issue ?. I am also having issue with Front Left/Right Makers not working, Driver Seat having low voltage (9.9 Volt) and not working. Only Drive Lock not working. Mine does not have any mechanical noise when door is open or locked so I am doubting whether it has anything to do with spring or not. Seems not having power at door lock causing driver lock not working.
