P0670 on 2009 ML320 Bluetec
Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on my 2009 ML320, which has a CEL. I scanned the OBD2 and got a code P0670 back. I've done some search on this forum and it seems the problem is related to glow plug. What I'm not sure about though is, does this code indicate the problem is with glow plug unit, or the plugs themselves, or could be either. To fix it, would you guys recommend to DIY (I know little about cars...), independent shop or take to the dealer? Many thanks!
Ps: I still have the powertrain warranty - last year of extended warranty but I don't think glow plugs are covered. I'll check with my dealer tomorrow anyway.

My E320 bluetec showed the same p0670 code a few weeks ago. The engine would not start right away when cold and showed the 'ignition error' sign. But the problem has been intermittent. Did you get a fix of your problem? I am going to change the glow plug module and the glow plugs, hoping that fixes the problem.

I ended up ordering the part online and the part number is 6429007701 - it is different than the original one but it is supposed to replace the original one. The whole process went quite smoothly except it was very hard to pull out the connectors from the original units because the plastic has become soft over the years and pressing the release button didn't really release it...I broke half of the connector (luckily there are two latches...) then I put back the 4 bolts and cleared the code. So far there is no problem. I pretty much followed this video here, very helpful.
