2007 Ml320CDI- radio command switch repair?

I have the command/navigation unit in the ML. The command button "joystick" the one on the lower right of the unit, does not always recognize being pressed in. I have to press it several times for it to do what it is supposed to do. Problem has been getting worse over several years.

Has anyone worked on this switch? Can I repair or replace it myself. Or-- has anyone had an experience with a repair facility that can fix or replace this switch?

Got a pic so we can see exactly what it is your talking about?

Is it the screen or the plastic frame/trim.

Picture of 2007 ML Radio/navigation unit

It is the lower right hand knob which says "OK" on it. the up-down-left-right "joystick" functions like it should. The pushing it in does not without repeated trys.

Honestly if your dead set on fixing this I think you would have to source one out that's in ok condition from a scrap yard or refurbished.

But if the budget permits I would replace it with an aftermarket replica running android.
