What is this for?

Hi,
I just bought a 2011 ML550. In the storage compartment in the center console, there appears to be a connector of some sort. At first I thought it was a light but now realize it contains a chip of some sort. Does anybody know what this is for? I've attached two pictures.

Looks like the clear cover for a light with an integral bulb holder. I'd guess something interior.

What's the part number?

Looks like it might be inside a compartment in the overhead center console?

It's a light. Must be an LED type because I don't see a bulb in there. It's in the compartment between the front seats.

It is a light. It is mounted in the side of the centre console pocket. You my need to remove the console pocket to find the connector.
