Replacing AC Receiver Drier
Replacing AC Receiver Drier
hi:
Does anybody know if removing the AC Receiver/Drier on 2007 ML350 requires a removal of the AC condenser? I believe the AC Receiver / Drier on this car is underneath the Condenser.
Thanks,
Jim

Actually my AC compressor is broken and i already put a shorter serpentine belt to bypass it so i have no option but to replace it. Some Jiffy lube provides AC recharging service and i wonder if they will also do a simpler job to remove/recover the existing refrigerant. Do you know if the compressor has to rotate to remove/recover the refrigerant?
Once the refrigerant is removed, i plan to put the new compressor, and ideally i would like to put a new drier, but i am not too sure now if i want to do that if i have to remove the condenser and bumper. Did you say 20 minutes is the time i have to reconnect the hose to the new compressor (close the system) if i don't replace the drier?
