First year out of warranty, some questions!

** My location is Mountain View, CA (next to Palo Alto for reference) **
So my 2011 only has ~12,000 miles on it.
This is the first year I need to have a private garage do my maintenance and wanted to gauge if these quotes are what most people are paying

One shop took a quick visual of my ML and based on the service records I showed him for the past three years he recommended the below at those prices.

Sound reasonable (a second shop across the street quoted me around the same price) ? He said my air cleaner was clean and he'd just blow some air through it.

1) Inspection $175
2) oil and filter change $195
3) Brake fluid renewal $195

Where are located? $565 total? Wow.
Most dealers and mechanics in the USA will do a
brake fluid for about $100. Cheat and just a turkey baster to suck out the old fluid and put in new....make sure you use the exact correct stuff,
get a bottle from the dealer.

Oil change, well a C350 takes about 8.5 quarts of Mobil 1.
Which model do you have?
Any interest in DIY'ing?? You'll save a bundle.
Even a dealer doesn't charge that much and the inspections are included.

You could DIY for about $60- 70. Qt. 2, 5 gallon bottles from
Walmart of 0w-40 @ 25 each and an oil filter $10.

Use a pump and no need to climb under the vehicle.
Sounds pretty high for an oil change at least in US dollars.
Filter comes out the top too.

Inspection? 12K miles? Likely not much needed.
Just take a look yourself and make sure the belt isn't frayed, and no
weird noises from any of the pullies and they are all spinning and nothing is leaking under the hood.
Here's the factory service sheet with what needs to be done. Check the power steering fluid also,
pop the plastic engine cover, instructions for reading the dipstick are around. Basically you take it out when the fluid is hot, wipe it, then
just let it rest without screwing it in, ,and read it.

Likely all you need is an oil change.
DIY and save yourself $500, well + a bottle of Brake fluid,
turkey baster, pump and filter wrench, all combined well less than $100.
