LED Tailight Brake Light Out
Why????????? Hi! Have a 2010 ML350 with the led Tailights and one is out for the brake light and one has some dead leds has anyone gone to the dealer and received new ones because there defective? Pain. Why did they do this I've been told that it isn't covered under warranty. But still. Should be covered under goodwill of some sort. It's a well known problem

There is a by now well-known brake-light fault on 164 MLs. (I know its only well-known after it happens to you) One 12v wire goes through the lamp and is grounded only through the reflector socket housing. The fix is MB part 1648260007 ( about 15 bucks ) this part with instructions adds a ground wire from the socket directly to the wiring loom. Before when I replaced the bulb (which still looked and was good), corrosion on the socket was scraped-off only to build-up again and give a brake light fault. Supposedly, Mercedes was fixing this for free but you can do it yourself in 15min and not have to argue and leave your car all day. Hope this helps.
